Dr Michael 'Miki' Schwartzbord
Qualifications:
Dr Michael ‘Miki’ Schwartzbord has been providing GP Consulting services full time at Kallista Medical Centre since 2016. He graduated from Monash Medical School with Honours in 2002 and completed his GP training at Monbulk Family Clinic in 2009. Dr Miki has further qualifications in Child’s Health, Medical Acupuncture and Mental Health. He is also a Medical Educator supervising our next generation of GPs.
“For me General Practice was a deliberate choice over other specialities. As GPs we choose to specialise in people rather than diseases. I prefer to work together to prevent health problems if possible rather than palliate them, but accept that this is necessary too. I try to work alongside my patients respectfully, appreciating both the simplicity and complexity of life. I seek to address the interacting social, psychological and biological aspects that influence illness and health. I see these as worthy aspirations.”
Dr Miki lives in Kallista with his lovely wife, 4 gorgeous kids, 6 happy hens, and a growing garden! Outside of work he dedicates Fridays to homeschooling his kids and busies himself with numerous DIY projects, cooking, hiking, camping, and building meaningful and enduring friendships.
